Der Startschuss für das Sport-Event gegen Krebs, „Mallorca en marcha“, fällt am Morgen um 10 Uhr vor dem Hauptbahnhof der Inselhauptstadt, gegenüber der Plaza de España. Veranstalter ist unter anderem die Anti-Krebs-Organisation AECC. Auch die Stadt Palma de Mallorca beteiligt sich an der Initiative.
Wer sich auch engagieren möchte, der kann sich noch anmelden unter www.eitechip.net. Dort findet sich auch eine genauere Beschreibung der Teilnahmebedingungen, Informationen zum Streckenverlauf und zusätzliche Informationen über weitere Benefiz-Events der Organisation AECC.
Bis zum 5. November um 23:59 ist eine Anmeldung noch möglich. Teilnehmer zahlen je nach Disziplin und Alter eine Anmeldegebühr zwischen drei und 15 Euro. Die Einnahmen werden der Anti-Krebs-Organisation gestiftet.
Es wird zwei unterschiedliche Streckenabschnitte geben. Die „Carrera Popular“ erstreckt sich über drei Kilometer – insbesondere für Familien und Kinder eignet sich diese Route besonders gut. Der Lauf beginnt um 10 Uhr.
Die „Carrera Open“ hingegen ist schon etwas anspruchsvoller. Um 11 Uhr beginnt der Lauf für die 10-Kilometer-Strecke.
