Die rollende Ferienunterkunft
Seit wenigen Wochen bietet der deutsche Alexander Brocks alte VW-Busse als rollende Ferienunterkunft an. Kein Pauschalurlaub im Hotel, keine Pool-Animation, Zimmerservice oder All-Inclusive. Die funkelnde Milchstraße über den Köpfen, das Mittelmeer das an die Felsen klatscht nur ein paar Meter entfernt, das kühle Dosenbier aus dem Supermarkt in der Hand. Mallorcas wahre Freiheit!
Drei Exemplare der Ferienunterkünfte gibt es, alle drei sind charmant restaurierte T3-Modelle mit Caravan-Vollausstattung. Darunter befindet sich auch ein geräumiges beigefarbenes Modell, Baujahr 1985. Es kann ein weißes Hochdach, ein ausklappbares Doppel-Bett, einen Gasherd, einen Kühlschrank und eine Markise vorweisen. Ebenso zur Serien-Ausstattung gehören zwei Klappstühle, ein Campingtisch, Decken, Bettzeug, ein Mensch-Ärgere-Dich-Nicht-Spiel, Kerzen und eine Taschenlampe.
Campen auf Mallorca verboten
Campen ist offiziell nicht erlaubt, wer sich allerdings zu benehmen weiß, wird geduldet. Das heißt konkret: keine offenen Feuer oder Barbecues. Selbst auf öffentlichen Grillplätzen ist das von Mai bis Oktober strengstens verboten. Jeglicher Müll sollte stets und ausschließlich in den dafür vorgesehenen Straßencontainern entsorgt werden. Geschlafen wird dort, wo es keinen stört.
Zusammen mit den Fahrzeugpapieren bekommen Urlauber eine Mappe überreicht. Hier findet sich die hausgemachte Bedienungsanleitung für den Bulli und viele praktische Tipps á la: „Ich bin über 2,40 Meter hoch und passe in kein Parkhaus". Auch eine Inselkarte und zahlreichen Infos zu guten „Stellplätzen", Bars, Restaurants und Sehenswertem ist enthalten.
Wer Servolenkung, ABS oder Einparkhilfe sucht, ist hier falsch! Auch eine Klimaanlage, ein Navi oder eine Bluetooth-Verbindung fürs Smartphone…naja, Fehlanzeige.
Rollen statt rasen!
Gerade dieser Mangel an technischem Komfort ist allerdings das, was es ausmacht. „Lazy Bus“ heißt die Caravan-Vermietung von Brocks und sie beschränkt sich auf die Einfachheit der Dinge. Motto: rollen statt rasen. Ein Urlaub in einem der Oldtimer-Bullis vermittelt ein magisches Gefühl von unbegrenzter Urlaubs-Freiheit – und zwar fernab von Essenszeiten im Hotel und geführten Stadtbesichtigungen. So verwandelt sich der VW blitzschnell in eine Ferienhütte direkt am Meer, in ein Apartment in den Bergen oder in ein Ferienhaus unter dem Mandelbaum.
Kosten, Personenanzahl und die morgendliche Toilette
Auf der umklappbaren Rücksitzbank ist bequem Platz für zwei Erwachsene, Familien mit Kindern sollten einen der Hochdach-Busse buchen. Hier gibt es Platz für insgesamt vier Personen. Die Mietgebühren liegen bei etwa 75 Euro pro Tag in der Hochsaison. Hinzu kommt eine einmalige Servicepauschale von 50 Euro, ebenso eine Kaution von 450 Euro in bar. Die Mindestmietdauer liegt bei 3 Tagen. Wer einen einwöchigen Bulli-Urlaub plant, der sollte mit etwa 600 Euro rechnen – zuzüglich Verpflegung. Camping-Neulinge sollten daran denken, dass die warme Dusche entfällt und dass für die morgendliche Toilette eine Bar oder Gaststätte angesteuert werden sollte.
